Projects

Leadership Farmville is a seven-month program with sessions devoted to a variety of government, education, economic development, and community service subjects, which affect community growth and quality of life.

The purpose of Leadership Farmville is to create an expanding pool of people who will form the nucleus of the community’s future. They will be leaders in their home, workplace and community.

Leadership Farmville’s objectives are to help participants develop their own leadership potential by educating them about the role and workings of government, education and volunteer community service; to unite community residents from diverse backgrounds to ensure the tapestry of partnership is woven with all threads so the quilt of common purpose is the truth, is durable, and comfortably fits; to provide allies for those who already hold elective or appointive office - those who understand the process of government and how the community functions will be more likely to respond effectively to the reality of challenge and potential; to explain the relationship the community has with the regional, state and federal governments so that challenges and solutions, answers and understandings, are complete, not partial.
