Location
The Farmville Area is known as the Heart of Virginia. We are located within an easy drive of several metropolitan areas, including Richmond, Washington, Lynchburg, Charlottesville and Roanoke. You can be in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in an hour and visit the popular Virginia beaches in two and one half hours.
Roads: Interstates within 60 miles include I-95 (north and south); I-85 (north and south); I-64 (east and west). U.S. Highways 460 and 15 are routed through Farmville and Prince Edward County, and U.S. 60 runs through Cumberland. Virginia Primary Route 45 connects Farmville with Cumberland.
Air Transportation: Richmond International Airport (70 miles) and Lynchburg Municipal Airport (55 miles) serve the Farmville area for passenger, freight, and air express services. The Farmville Regional Airport, located five miles north of Farmville in Cumberland County, has a 4,400 foot runway. Full maintenance services, fuel, air ambulance and flight instruction are available at the regional airport.
Bus: Greyhound provides inter-city transportation. The Farmville Area Bus provides intra-city service and Prince Edward Rural Transit (PERT) to several locations in Prince Edward County.
Motor Freight: Approximately 26 trucking firms service the surrounding area.
