Voices of Veterans

VOICES OF OUR VETERANS
Last year Piedmont Area Veterans Council partnered with Kickin’ Country to begin our “Voices of our Veterans” program for students from 1st through 5th grade. Students are encouraged to write a brief paragraph about what the veteran in their life means to them. Larry Armes from Kickin’ Country will begin reading as many entries as possible on the radio starting November 1st through the 11th (Veteran’s Day). Students from the counties of Appomattox, Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward are encouraged to participate. Each student that participates will review a Certificate of Honor for the Veteran they write about. All students’ names will be placed into a drawing and three winners will be chosen for gifts from American Legion Post 32, VFW Post 70-59 and Piedmont Area Veterans Council.  For an application to participate please call our office at 434-392-4142 or email us at pavc23901@aol.com.  All completed applications must be emailed or scanned bac to PAVC no later than October 19th.
