Friday, June 22 & 29 - Mickie Carrington & Rebecca Kelly interview (Parts 1 & 2)
In 1959, both Mickie Carrington and Rebecca Kelly found themselves locked out of the county’s public schools. Mickie was 9-years-old and would not return to school until age thirteen. Rebecca Kelly, a young teacher, accepted a new job at the private, whites-only “segregation academy.” In this two-part Brown Bag Lunch Series, the two women sit down together to share their story.
