    Event Description:
    David Radcliff, director of the New Community Project (NCP), will speak Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Hiner Auditorium on "One planet, two worlds." NCP, which Radcliff and others founded in 2003, is a nonprofit organization whose goals include environmental awareness, global education and experiential learning. Through its partners in six countries, the organization supports girls' education, women's development, and reforestation and forest preservation. Radcliff had led NCP "Learning Tours" to the Arctic, the Amazon, South Sudan, Nepal, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Central America. Dr. Melanie Marks, professor of economics and coordinator of study abroad, has participated in Learning Tours to Ecuador and Myanmar. Radcliff's appearance is part of the Simkins Lecture Series.
