Bring Dad out to High Bridge the night before Father's Day and enjoy the spectacular sight of synchronous fireflies by the thousands in the tree tops below the bridge. Craig Guthrie, the Park's Chief Ranger, will give a brief talk about these curious insects with their abdomens aglow. Bring your camera as you'll want to record this curious event of nature.
Waverly Garner, the Park's AmeriCorps volunteer will guide guests starting at 8:30 p.m. from the parking lot on River Road. The distance to High Bridge is approximately one mile from this parking lot. Be sure to bring drinking water and be prepared to stay out after dark. For more information contact the park office.
