Name: Make Your Own Weather AnemometerDate: June 22, 2013Time: 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM EDTWebsite: http://www.virginiastateparks.govEvent Description:Participants age 8 and up can earn a certificate and official High Bridge Trail State Park patch for completing a meteorology course. Boy Scouts are eligible to earn a weather merit badge. You will learn such valuable skills as how weather affects farmers and other occupations, safety rules and what causes wind. You will also make your own anemometer.
We will provide everything you need. The course will be presented by J.T. Maxey, Assistant Boy Scout leader of troop 6516 in Farmville and High Bridge Trail State Park Ranger.
From the River Road parking lot, we will travel approximately one mile to High Bridge. Please bring your own drinking water.
Pre-registration is required and the registration deadline is June 14th. For more information and to register, contact the park office.
