National Trails Day 5K Race

High Bridge Trail State Park is hosting an annual 5K run in celebration of National Trails Day. 

The race follows an out-and-back course. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female finishers in each age category. The top overall male and female finishers will each receive a free weekend cabin stay in a Virginia State Park. Categories are: Men and Women 10 and under, 11-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Participation is capped at 200 runners.

Registration by May 1st is $25. From May 2nd through June 1st, the fee is $30. Registration on package pickup through the day of the race will be $35. Pre-race packet pickup will be at the Virginia's Heartland Regional Visitor Center on Friday, June 2nd from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., located at 121 E. Third Street, Farmville, VA 23901. Timing and scoring is provided by Riverside Runners of Lynchburg, VA. Race proceeds benefit the non-profit support organization Friends of High Bridge Trail State Park, which provides funding for special projects to improve our park and volunteer support.
