    Event Description:
The Keysville American Legion Auxiliary #260 present the Operation Purple 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit Operation Purple and Purple Camps.

Operation Purple, a program run by the National Military Family Association, was created in 2004 in response to the call from military parents to "help us help our kids," and has grown to serve approximately 45,00 military children and teens. Their mission: to empower military children and families to develop and maintain healthy and connected relationships, in spite of the current military environment of regular deployments.

Purple Camps offer a free week of summer fun for military kids whose parents have been, are currently, or will soon be deployed. They offer a positive environment for children ages 7-17 to have fun, make friends, and remind military kids that they are our nation's youngest heroes. Their motto: Kids Serve Too!
